I was 16 years old and casually flicking through my mother’s Gourmet Magazine, when suddenly my eyes fixed on a double-spread: “Punta del Este – The St. Tropez of Latin America”. I hardly even knew where it was and there was Sting; pictured vacationing with the cognoscenti of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo! I think that’s what got me. How did he know to go there of all places? It intrigued me and conjured a feeling of wanderlust immediately. I tore the page out and thought; “If Sting has a secret, it’s a secret worth having”, and my travel files were born.Over the years, my accordion files filled an armoire and were getting harder to move from country to country. Tear-sheets, pamphlets, tips from travel-savvy friends and notes made where I lived or travelled to, became the prolific knowledge base that my friends and colleagues would beg me to share for anything travel and lifestyle related. Which in turn became the business I love: Skimming the world for its best kept secrets and delivering the purest essence of them for people to learn of, smell, touch and then experience.I’ve lived in Washington DC, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Buenos Aries, Seville, Geneva and London, and my passion for collecting and curating my files has only grown; finding the best and editing the rest. Equally, I take a particular pride in compiling the best-in-class to a specific brief and delivering a tailored piece of information to someone who’d never have time to get near to researching it.
