Contemporary art and furnishings are the main features of the 49 guest rooms and suites, all individually decorated and located in eight refurbished townhouses. Each townhouse has a different design style from metal catwalks suspended by cables to the Baroque architecture of Haus zum Pferch—ornately carved woodwork and minimal modern furniture. The first time I stayed here, we had a duplex suite that was refined and comfortable. The concierges are top-notch and the restaurant serves high-quality food, including an array of vegetarian specialties, while the bar attracts jazz musicians from all over the world. A word of warning to fitness fans—although the spa is great, the gym really isn't as well-equipped as it should be. 15 minutes from Zurich Airport.
