Albergo San Montano, A Secluded Resort in Ischia, Italy
Ischia, Naples, Italy

Perched high above the hills, the very attractive Albergo San Montano commands a breathtaking view of Naples, Mount Vesuvius and the Sorrentine Peninsula. Although I (nor any of my Insiders), did not have the opportunity to enjoy a stay here, I thought it best to include Albergo San Montano in my files as the location and views are wonderful—especially on an island where there are so few nice places to stay.
My Insider did get a look at the comfortable lobby and pool area, with both thermal & salt water pools, plus an inviting sun deck. Built in the 60s, Albergo San Montano has been totally re-furbished with decor is old-world navy with dark mahogany, brass and nautical antiques—very fitting for the seaside location. Be sure to book a room with a balcony. The restaurant has a panoramic terrace where you can enjoy traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Guests of the hotel can take the shuttle bus to the private beach if they need a change from the swimming pools. Both a small town and Mezzatorre Resort & Spa and L'Albergo Regina Isabella are within a 5 minute drive and a lovely 15 minute walk.
Room rates from €254.
