The Standard of Luxury

standardmiami.jpgThe Standard Hotel
Miami, US

Andre Balazs has the midas touch - yet again. This place is simply fab. (and I don’t typically like minimalist) The materials, open spaces and attention to detail to create a fun, relaxing vibe with hip thrown in with gold dust are nothing short of impressive. The rooms are the least attractive ; LOVE the yoga/ meditation room, equally the wet room steam in the spa. If you are not staying here, go for lunch pool and bayside. You won’t regret it! Rates vary seasonally, please contact hotel for more information.

Barbuda, Antigua & Barbuda

Recently undergone an overhaul; re-designed as the “ultimate beach house” - the place is stunn-ing. Secluded, sexy ambience, gorgeous views everywhere you look. Everything is white comfy and teak wood against the backderop of the electric blue pool and deep blue sea. Located on one of the most spectacular and wild natural beaches in the Caribbean, away from the fast paced hustle and bustle. Relax, stroll on the beach, practice yoga, chhhhillll. This place is grown up. $700-$1300 a night; can do better with packages.

Aman Turks & Caicos

amanyara1.jpgAmanyara
Turks and Caicos Islands

Calling Aman junkies….”Surrounded by sunshine, breeze, and unbelievable beauty, it is easy to forget the stress of the modern world.” Do I sound like a brochure? It just is! Villas are elevated above the water, simple and refined- Aman style.  Whilst the Pond-view pavilions have pretty over-water terraces, pay a little extra and get a room with an incredible sea-view.  A top diving destination: choose from scuba, snorkeling, and fishing in the waters of the Northwest Point Marine National Park. Yummy spa, yummier food… Head over between January and March for mild weather and Humback whales!
*Guests staying a minimum of three nights, quote Suzannesfiles and receive nightly rate of US$950++ in an Ocean Pavilion.

Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

duhau.jpgPark Hyatt
Buenos Aires, Argentina

The one to watch in Buenos Aires; A new Park Hyatt in the gorgeous resedential Recoleta area. Opened end of June 2006; restored Palacio and next-door Posadas building, linked by a gorgeous garden and stunning underground art gallery space. I love the Park Hyatt in Paris (Place Vendome) and hear this one is tops top. Especially like the 25 M indoor pool if you are one for laps. Stay here on biz or for fun, even knowing it is a “serious” hotel unlike some of the more fashionable fun ones I’ve listed. Room rates from $350 USD.
