Dublin’s Top Beauty Experts, Salons & Spas

Beauty & skincare boutiques, stylists, waxing, eyebrow experts and more

Sharon Smurfit, one of Dublin's most fashionable women, recently opened Estelle, a new boutique on Lower Baggot Street that stocks a fabulous array of shoes, handbags and jewelry. The entrepreneur is also a busy mom who often attends high-profile events where she has to look her best, and she's shared with us the inside scoop on the spas, salons, and experts she and other fair lassies in the Irish capital go to get gorgeous.

Hair Stylist: Shay Dempsey at Zoo Hair Salon

"Trying to get an appointment with Shay Dempsey from Zoo Hair Salon is next to impossible, and people who do get a booking often have to wait up to a month for his personal touch—it’s worth the wait. He's great and his lovely salon is the only one to go for cut and color. Plus, it's close to Grafton Street so is handy for the shopping. Expensive but worth it!"

Beauty and Skincare Emporium: Nue Blue Eriu

"Located in the city center on South William Street, this beauty and skincare boutique has everything you need, including hard-to-find brands, candles and fragrances, men's grooming products and their own line of products with attractive packaging. Nue Blue Eriu is a great place to shop for gifts, and they also have treatment rooms and a menu of beauty and skin care services, massages and body therapies."

Facial: The Four Seasons Spa

"By far the best facial in town is the La Prairie Facial at the spa in the Four Seasons Hotel in Ballsbridge. It lasts one hour and your skin will be glowing afterwards. The treatment rooms are spacious and you can enjoy the steam room and sauna before or after an appointment."

Manicure and Pedicure: Mink Hand & Foot Spa

"Mink Hand & Foot Spa with two locations in Dublin, one in Donnybrook and a flagship store in Ballsbridge, is fantastic. There are numerous treatments for both hand and feet from which to choose and they have modern pedicure chairs. I go to the one in Ballsbridge; it has a great cappuccino available too."

Blow Dry: Garrett Stokes at Joseph Kramer Hair Studio

"Personally, I think Garrett Stokes in a salon called Joseph Kramer Hair Studio in Stillorgan, a suburb of Dublin, is great. He can get body into any length of hair and is fast. For the quick blow dry, he is the best you will be in and out in half and hour even with long hair. Prices mid-range."

Spray Tan: Pinkie

"My best friend is a spray tan fanatic in the summer months and highly recommends Pinkie in Dun Laoghaire. Her tan is never streaky so they must be good! As for me, I think the Let It Show body glow from Origins is simply amazing."

Massage: Mona at the K Spa

"Mona from the K Club, a golf and spa resort outside Dublin that my father happens to own, gives one of the best massages in Ireland. Working out of the K Spa, her one-hour all over deep tissue is divine—you feel like you have been massaged and not rubbed. Wait in the "anticipation room" prior to your treatment and then zone out in the relaxation room afterwards. Full use of the spa is available too."
