Cartagena is a city of pastel-painted houses, colonial memories and stories brought to life by its most famous inhabitant, Gabriel García Márquez. This is a place where you can believe in his particular brand of imaginative romanticism, and there’s no better way to really feel a part of the time-warped city than by staying in one of the ancient convents.
