An elegant, centrally located hotel with a 160-year tradition of great hospitality. Many of their 124 individually designed rooms have been recently renovated, but thanks to some great antiques they’ve been able to keep their traditional charm. Make sure you get a room with a view over the lake. (Just watch out if you have young children, as some of the railings on the balconies are a bit low) Facilities cater for your every need, whether business or pleasure; six meeting rooms are available. When work is done, head to the lake for a power walk or rooftop gym with stunning views over the Alps and Lake Zurich. Service is impeccable, even providing amenities for dogs. Three restaurants include the trendy Rive Gauche, serving up French nouveau and Italian cuisine. Despite the nightclub, it’s not a big party scene, so head over for a relaxing, classic stay—no wonder it has such a royal following. It’s my Zurich pick! 20 minutes from International Airport Zurich-Kloten.
