Intrepid Challenges

For citizens of the world, traveling means more than passively taking in the sites. Australia-based Intrepid Challenges coordinates trekking and cycling adventure trips throughout the world, all of which raise money for charity. Take off on an “Amazing Race” through Indochina—you’ll see city capitals and villages while you travel on bikes, boats, elephants and more; join an epic walk along the Australian coastline or the Great Wall of China; pedal through the countryside and jungles of Vietnam or the steppes of Mongolia. You select from a roster of events, choose from among the Intrepid Challenges’ affiliated charities—most of which are based in Australia and New Zealand—and then go out and raise your funds. (There’s also an option to pay your own way.) Talk about a citizens’ task force.
