Halfway between Lausanne and Geneva—and worth the trip from both—you’ll find the cute little town of Bougy-Villars, home to master chocolatier Tristan Carbonatto. He and his wife, Yvette, toil away in their laboratory and whip up confections fit for a queen. In fact, he’s the chocolatier of choice for the Spanish royal family! The caramel truffles are, in my opinion, their piece de la resistance, but a broad array of treats are available. To give themselves enough of a chance to ensure each chocolate is meticulously crafted, they keep the shop closed Sunday through Tuesday. |
