They only serve breakfast, but it is fabulous. Start with the fantastic variety of seasonal fresh fruits, followed by your choice of eggs with freshly patted tortillas. Also try their delish homemade breads and preserves.

Casa Oaxaca, Central
Whilst this restaurant is supervised by the same head chef (Alejandro Ruiz Olmedo) as the excellent Casa Oaxaca hotel restaurant, food is more creative and lively here.  Anyone for jicama grasshoppers?! Less adventurous diners can feast on the excellent fish choices; a favorite is red snapper with mountain pear and basil sauce. Decor is understated and contemporary. A great spot to sample the best in modern fusion Oaxaca cuisine.

Hacienda Los Laureles, San Felipe del Agua
The gardens here are lovely and the food is great. A fabulous range of local dishes using fresh local produce, breakfast is a specialty with delish freshly baked pastries and breads.

Restaurante Los Danzantes, Centro Historico
Stunning architecture and modern Mexican cuisine make for an exciting place to dine. The menu is fairly limited, but as a result every dish is perfectly executed. Excite your palate with unique creations such as a prawn and prickly pear cactus soup. Follow your meal with one of the restaurant’s own line of cigars and heady mezcal liquor.
