Elegant, beautiful restaurant in a sea captain’s house. Expect Greek classics with a twist- eggplant mousse with vegetables and goat cheese and rack of lamb with olive oil, apples, and tea sauce grilled prawns with star anise.

Ambrosia, Oia
Owned by the same team who manage Oia’s Café-Restaurant, this hot spot has a view overlooking the caldera. Perfect for a romantic candlelit supper. The guinea fowl in a sweet-and-sour sauce with tomatoes and herbs and feta filo pastry drizzled with honey are firm favorites.

Oia’s Café-Restaurant, Oia
Go for the food rather than the views. Delish familiar Greek standards, with a few exciting additions- such as potato salad with capers grown on the island, grilled mushrooms with garlic, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil and pork tenderloin sautéed with ginger, raisins, and red wine.

Ta Dichtia Fish Tavern, Perivolos Beach
At the locals’ favorite beach- Perivolos. Go for the fava spread, fried tomato balls and fresh fish. It’s also a good place to have the taxi pick you up for the 30 minute ride back to Oia.

Dimitri’s, nr Fira
A favorite of a dear friend- for simple, great fish cooked on a charcoal grill. Fabulous views. Like Katina you choose your own fish- so pick carefully or you could end up spending 200 Euros!
