Vinotherapy Spa: Delluva Spa
Tribeca
For a Merlot treatment in Manhattan, head to Tribea's Delluva Day Spa, where the rejuvenating and antioxidant powers of wine and grapes are harnessed in their Vinotherapy body and skincare treatments. The high concentration of polyphenols found in grapes and their seeds are used to create a uniquely relaxing experience. Grapeseed extracts also work to strengthen blood vessels and enhance micro-circulation. The spa is warmly decorated in earth tones and chandeliers created from wine bottles. The nine treatment rooms of this 2,500-square-foot spa are named for famous wine regions and use TheraVine, a skin care line from the Cape wine lands area of South Africa. Try the TheraVine Barrel Bath; start off with a full body grape-seed exfoliation before being immersed in powerful Grape skin and Vine leaf water and ending it all with a light application of Pinotage body oil.

Skin Care Salon: Mario Badescu
Midtown East
Forty years in the business, Mario Badescu's salon is still tops for fabulous facials, massages and products, all of which are made from natural ingredients. I'd be here all day listing their celebrity clientele, so just take it from me: it's long! While this spa won't be winning any awards for decor, they more than make up for it through their services. Enjoy facials, hair removal, mani/pedi and reflexology. The Almond & Honey Body sounds simply delicious—finely ground almonds are massaged all over you to buff away skin impurities and soften dull, dry skin, and his seaweed night cream has been a favorite of mine for years—it's fab for an oil-free hydrating boost.

Hair and Make Up Salon: Sparkle Beauty Studio
West Village
For a relaxed, personalized hair styling experience, step into Sparkle Beauty Studio, an intimate, two-chair salon in the West Village. The retro, almost all-white interior is modeled after hair and makeup rooms of Hollywood Golden Age film sets, but it also has the feel of an old school barbershop, so stylish men feel just as comfortable getting their hair done there as do women. Loyal clients come for cuts and color from the talented duo of owners Gabriel Trujillo and Jeffrey Fernandez. The partners have long done the locks of rock and pop stars, models and actors for video and magazine shoots and fashion shows, and are frequently called upon to work backstage at red carpet events like the Grammys and the MTV Music Awards. Spire editor Chantal has gone to Gabriel for years and loves his soothing, soft-spoken demeanor and his excellent music taste! He's always playing great tunes there. Jeffrey and Gabriel also do make up application. Check out Sparkle's own line of V.I.P. hair products, named for how you'll feel when walking out the door, of course.

Hair Salon: Frédéric Fekkai
Midtown and SoHo
For hair cuts and blow outs, Kirsten Weaver, VP at ID Model Management, goes to Fabrice Gili, the Creative Director at the Frédéric Fekkai salon in SoHo. "Fabrice is very talented and just knows how to shape the hair according to your face," says Kirsten. "I also go to Fekkai for blow outs; full of volume or sleek—they are great at both." Fekkai himself is master stylist and celeb favorite, and has salons in Los Angeles, Dallas and several other locals. But his sleek, flagship salon is uptown on 5th Avenue, where the talented Seiji Kitazato and Tammy Sherman hold down the fort while Fekkai travels between his many salons. It's everything you would expect from one of the biggest names in the business—Frederic's been in the business for over 20 years, and is famous for his modern and clean cuts. It's pricey, so if $295 for a cut seems a bit steep, enquire about Tuesday's open house nights when senior stylists train juniors and prices are a steal. NB: Fekkai's third NYC salon will open soon at the newly renovated Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side.

Highly recommended cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist who also operates a skin spa offering dermatology, liposuction, Botox, fillers, and other cosmetic treatments. The clinic was one of the first in NY to offer the Polaris WR, which combines a collagen-stimulating laser with skin-tightening radio frequencies—while it's not relaxing, it's tolerable and really effective. Other services include permanent make-up and hair laser removals, brow lifts. Don't worry, despite all the medical procedures, this place feels more like a spa than a doctor's office.

Upper East Side
The "queen of the arch" that all the A-listers swear by. The brows of JLo, Oprah and many other boldfaced names have all been shaped into submission by Eliza. Her mixed waxing and tweezing approach tames brows like no other—don't question her vision though, when your face is in her hands it's hers! However, there's no denying you'll come out looking years younger without a scalpel in sight. Make sure not to pluck for at least 4 weeks before your appointment. Be prepared, eyebrows like these doesn't come cheap: $120 for Eliza, $85 for one of her "e-ssociates."

Blow Outs: Blow Styling Salon
Meatpacking & Upper East Side
Gossiping, blowouts, manis and pedis go hand in hand at this convenient salon which is all about making blow outs fast and convenient. The concept at their West 14th Street salon was so successful that they recently opened a second location on the Upper East Side at Lexington and 64th Street. Evoking an old-school beauty parlor, you can walk in for a whole range of treatments—refresh your style or get a thorough "glamover." If you're pushed for time, the blow-to-go service sends a stylist to your home, office, hotel or wherever you need beauty treatments on the go. And the BlowPro team can be called upon to create 'dos for photo shoots and film appearances. As the name suggests, this place is known for outstanding blowouts, made possible by their T3 dryers. Addicts will love the buy 10 get one free incentive. Note that this place is decidedly very pink and feminine, perfect for a girl's night out, but may be a bit too much for some.

Many Upper East Side blondes have Borja Cau's color salon programmed into their iPhones or Blackberries. With a unique hair coloring technique that uses hand-painted, foil-free application, Borja, also called "the French Impressionist", creates a natural, refreshing color that compliments and lifts your hair's tones. She and her team only use products that are gentle to hair, ammonia and odor free. Despite its fame, clients rave about how unpretentious the staff is. She also offers what's said to be one of the original anti-aging treatments—using galvanic currents to ensure deep absorption of ingredients including vitamin C (antioxidant stimulator of collagen) and zinc (anti-inflammatory), it tightens pores and stimulates skin cells. White walls, concrete floors and long mirrors make you feel like you're in a photo shoot, and there are three private stations available for those who want some alone time.

Day Spa: Great Jones Spa
NoHo/Greenwhich Village
Great Jones! Not many places in NYC can boast a three-story indoor waterfall. This 15,000-square-foot facility has been designed to reflect the principles of Feng Shui, complete with a Chakra steam room, solarium and river rock sauna. All the Eastern influenced treatments are totally natural—there's a large menu of water treatments, and Asian inspired massage, body and skincare treatments, as well as detox treatments and energy healing. Want some privacy? The VIP suite features its own private elevator, treatment room, Jacuzzi tub and steam shower. They recently opened a hair and make up salon which is open seven days a week, and they run an adjacent healthy organic juice bar next door that's popular with the locals. Even if you don't want a treatment, you can pay $50 just to use the wet room facilities.
29 Great Jones Street | New York, New York 10012 United States
Hotel Spa: Mandarin Oriental Spa
Columbus Circle
It's perhaps the most expensive spa in New York, but the experience merits the price. The Mandarin hotel group in general has some of the best trained therapists in the world. Tucked away behind the hotel's main lobby, this orchid-bedecked day spa offers surprising tranquility overlooking upper Manhattan. Be sure to arrive to your appointment well in advance to spend time lounging in the men's or women's wet room with a color-therapy shower, amethyst crystal steam room and the ultra-soothing vitality pool. The spa only has six treatment rooms and a few guests at a time, so if you're lucky you'll get the wet room all to yourself! Most treatments are Asian or Ayurvedic in origin and use ESPA's botanical products. There's also a treatment room just for their excellent Thai massages, and a gorgeous VIP Spa Suite, with a fireplace and a private steamroom and sauna—great for a couples treatment. I adore their signature Vitamin Infusion facial, which leaves even the most city-ravaged faces youthful and glowing. Jessica was my therapist when I last visited; I'd rate her amongst the best at a day spa. Note that the hotel's amazing fitness room and lap pool on a different floor is only available to hotel guests, so you'll have to check in to use them!
